Black History Month

Race Council Cymru works to promote race equality, art, heritage and cultural activities for black and minority ethnic communities across Wales.

Race Council Cymru (RCC) was established in 2010 as an overarching umbrella body with the mission to bring together key organisations within Wales to cooperate on promoting integration, championing justice and race equality in institutions and society.

RCC engages with Black Asian and Minority Ethnic grassroots communities and works directly with the local authority, governing bodies and businesses to promote awareness of race inequality. We work to establish and facilitate channels of communication with minority ethnic and grassroots communities throughout Wales in conjunction with and on behalf of Primary Stakeholders, Welsh Government, Local Authorities and other such private and public bodies.

Racism exists every day, and unfortunately it also exists here in Wales. There is so much more we can do to hold ourselves and one another accountable, to uphold the highest standards of inclusion, appreciation and celebration of diversity across Wales. Zero Racism Wales stand in solidarity.

We all come together in unity and purpose; and we say NO to racism in all its forms.

Will you sign the Pledge?

Zero Racism Wales calls on all organisations and individuals committed to promoting racial harmony and equity to sign up to the zero-tolerance policy to racism in Wales and implement the commitments outlined by the policy within the workplace and their day to day lives.

By signing up and agreeing to the policy, you agree to take a stand against racism and promote a more inclusive and equal workplace and society that gives every individual in Wales the right to feel safe, valued and included.

All new full-time FE students and substantive part-time FE students (5 hrs+ per week) should complete the survey.

Coronavirus Testing (Lateral Flow Devices)

To support our ongoing efforts of keeping our campuses a ‘Covid Safe’ place to work and learn, we ask that you utilise our Lateral Flow Devices (LFD’s) and continue to use these throughout our first term.  Welsh Government recommends twice-weekly testing, which we also fully support and encourage.

If you require any testing kits, these can be picked up from reception areas at our Cowbridge Road, Queens Road and Pencoed Campuses. Testing kits can also be collected, free of charge, from local community pharmacies.

Remember:

Standing up → Wear a face covering
Sitting down → You can remove your face covering (if you want to)
